What is the Canada Visitor Visa?

The Canada Visitor Visa, also referred to as the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), is a credential granting visitors entry and residence in Canada for a brief duration, typically up to 6 months. Established by the Canadian government, this visa serves to manage the entry of tourists, business visitors, individuals in need of medical care, or those visiting relatives and friends, ensuring their stay complies with Canadian regulations and safety protocols. We provide a Multiple Entry visa, permitting you to come and go from Canada multiple times until its expiration. It's your passport to immersing yourself in Canada's stunning landscapes, lively urban centers, and hospitable communities.

What can you do with the Canada Visitor Visa?

  • Explore Canada, from its bustling cities like Toronto and Vancouver to the breathtaking landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and Niagara Falls.
  • Visit family or friends who live in Canada, strengthening cross-border relationships.
  • Conduct business activities such as attending meetings, conferences, and seminars. However, you cannot enter the Canadian labor market.
  • Engage in short-term study programs lasting less than six months.

What can you not do with the Canada Visitor Visa?

Work: The Canada Visitor Visa does not permit you to work in Canada. If you intend to work, you must apply for a Work Permit.

Study long-term: If your course lasts more than six months, you'll need a Study Permit.

Stay indefinitely: The Visitor Visa is temporary and usually allows you to stay up to 6 months at a time. To extend your stay, you must apply for an extension before your visa expires.

Apply for Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status: The Visitor Visa is a temporary visa and does not lead directly to obtaining Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

Who can apply for a Canada Visitor Visa?

The Canada Visitor Visa is open to individuals worldwide who meet specific criteria. Here are some requirements:

  • Be a citizen of a country that requires a visa to visit Canada. Canada has a Visa Waiver Program with certain countries whose citizens do not require a visa for short stays. If you are not from a Visa Waiver Program country, you need to apply for the Visitor Visa.

  • Have a valid passport: Your passport should have at least one blank page for the visa stamp and be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from Canada.

  • Be in good health: You might need a medical examination.

  • Have no criminal history or convictions for breaching immigration law.

  • Can convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, or family—that will take you back to your home country.

  • Intend to leave Canada at the end of your visit.

  • Have enough money for your stay: The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, your location, and how long you will stay.

Make sure to visit Canada before your passport expires and that it’ll stay valid during your trip. Otherwise, you'll need to apply for a new visa.
